Who we are
This website, jenniferbagley.com (the “Site”), is the personal website of Jennifer L. Bagley — founder and CEO of CI Web Group, Inc., keynote speaker, and author of Hands Up. The Site is operated with CI Web Group, Inc., 3120 PMB 92129 Suite 100, Houston, TX 77098, United States. For anything in this policy, contact [email protected].
This policy explains what information the Site collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the marketing pages and to the online book reader at /book.
Information you give us
The Site only collects personal information you choose to submit:
- Email updates signup — your name (optional) and email address, with an explicit consent checkbox, when you join Jennifer's email list from the book pages or the site.
- Book download — your name, email address, an optional “which best describes you” selection, and your marketing consent, when you request the free digital edition of Hands Up.
- Contact, speaking, training, and podcast forms — the details each form asks for, such as your name, company, role, email, phone number (where you provide it), event information, and your message. Speaking inquiries are routed to [email protected]; other inquiries go to the CI Web Group team.
- Strategy-session requests — name, email, company, optional phone, and your message, from the pop-out form in the reader.
- Reader sign-in (optional) — if you choose “Sign in with Google” in the book reader, we receive your basic Google profile (name, email address, profile photo) to personalize your reading experience. Google's own privacy policy applies to your Google account.
Where a form collects a phone number, an explicit consent notice at the point of collection describes how we may contact you. Message and data rates may apply to text messages, replying STOP opts you out, and consent to be contacted is never a condition of purchase.
Information stored on your device
The book reader stores your reading data — bookmarks, highlights, notes, reading position, text-size and read-aloud preferences, and (if you signed in) your reader profile — in your browser's localStorage, on your device. This reading data is not transmitted to our servers. Clearing your browser storage for this site removes it. Your cookie-consent choice is also remembered locally.
How form submissions are processed
Form submissions travel through CI Web Group's form-relay pipeline (api.ciwebgroup.com), which delivers your message to the right inbox and stores the lead record so we can respond. Submissions are protected against abuse with honeypot fields and Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise; Google's privacy policy and terms apply to reCAPTCHA. We use your submission to respond to your inquiry, provide what you requested (for example, the book download), and — only with your consent — send email updates. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any message.
Cookies, consent, and analytics
The Site uses only essential storage today: your consent choice and the on-device reader data described above. The Site does not currently load advertising pixels, and no analytics container is active as of the effective date. If analytics (such as Google Analytics 4) are added later, our consent wiring follows Google Consent Mode v2: analytics and advertising storage default to denied in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland until you opt in, and you can decline or change your choice at any time via the consent banner (see “Cookie Preferences” in the footer). We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a binding opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
Some pages embed YouTube videos using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com); the embed loads only after you press play. External links to social platforms and partner sites are governed by those sites' own policies.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- CI Web Group, Inc. — which operates the Site's infrastructure and responds to inquiries with Jennifer's team;
- Service providers — hosting (AWS), the form relay and email delivery, and spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA), each bound to use your data only to provide their service;
- Legal process — if required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
Retention and security
Concretely, we retain each category of data as follows:
- Email-list entries — until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We keep unsubscribe records indefinitely to honor your choice.
- Lead records from speaking / training / contact / podcast forms — up to 36 months from your last interaction, unless the underlying engagement or open conversation requires longer.
- Book-download requests — up to 36 months from the last book delivery or update, so we can re-send the file on request.
- On-device reader data — until you clear it. We never receive it, so we cannot delete it for you; use your browser's site-data controls.
- Legal-hold records — where a legal claim, subpoena, or investigation requires it, for the duration of the hold plus applicable statutory retention.
We use industry-standard safeguards (TLS in transit, encrypted-at-rest storage where applicable, least-privilege access controls, and audit logging on the form-relay pipeline). No internet transmission is 100% secure; please don't submit sensitive information through the forms.
We don't sell or share your personal information
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share it in the targeted-advertising sense defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, the Colorado Privacy Act, the Connecticut Data Privacy Act, the Utah Consumer Privacy Act, or comparable state privacy laws. We do not use your data for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Because we do not sell or share, no formal "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" toggle is required. If you want to confirm your status, request deletion, or opt out of any future marketing anyway, email [email protected] — we honor these requests within the timelines required by law.
International visitors
The Site is hosted in the United States (AWS US regions). If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another jurisdiction with data-protection rules, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. We rely on lawful transfer mechanisms (including your consent to the transfer when you submit a form) and honor GDPR rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection through [email protected]. EU/UK residents may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Your privacy rights (including California)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of marketing. California residents have the rights described in the CCPA/CPRA: the right to know what personal information we collect and how it's used and shared; the right to delete; the right to correct; the right to opt out of sale or sharing (we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CPRA); and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To exercise any right, email [email protected] with your request; we will verify it using the email address associated with your data and respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent where the law permits.
Children's privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above always reflects the current version, and material changes will be noted on this page.
